Congratulations to our students who were involved with the Industrial Cadets Scheme. This extra-curricular scheme is aimed at promoting STEM in schools. The Bronze teams chose from a selection of project briefs where they had to analyse, design, cost and develop a prototype which they then had to present to a panel of industry professionals.
All our teams did a fantastic job! Team 2 (Harry and Jorja) chose the brief “Zero waste world” and won the ‘Teamwork’ award as a result of their perseverance despite losing some team members along the way. Team 1 (Charlie P, Bradley S, Harvey E, Lachlan S) chose the “Theme park for the future” brief but unfortunately did not win an award this time - but thoroughly enjoyed the experiences and developed some really useful skills!
Well done to all who took part!

🏆 Year 8 and 10 Awards Evening 2025 🏆
The final evening of celebration, this time recognising the achievements of our youngest students in Year 8 and our hard working Year 10`s.
We were also proud to be joined by another former student, Sam I`Anson, who shared his story of the road to becoming a barrister. Another DSHS student who has gone on to achieve great things 🤩
Huge thanks to all of our performers, student helpers and staff (especially Mr Ward) who made all three evenings so special.
A massive well done to all of our award winners!

🏆 Year 9 and 12 Awards Evening 2025 🏆
Another fantastic evening celebrating success amongst our students. We were treated to more fantastic student performances and shared the achievements of two hard-working year groups.
Our guest speaker this evening was Dr Leah Webster - a respected academic in the field of Chemistry, who is currently based at the University of Cambridge. It was inspiring to hear that a Sixth Form trip to New York all those years ago made her want to travel and combine her passions for research, chemistry and seeing the world. She shared her story with our audience and made our students see that hard work and passion leads to great things! And she sat in the same DSHS classrooms 10 years ago 🥰
Well done to all of our award winners and performers this evening. We`re really proud of you ❤️

What an evening! We were honoured to welcome Rebecca Redfern as our guest speaker - gold winning paralympic swimmer and "one of our own". She joined us in celebrating the fantastic achievements of our students and enjoyed wonderful performances in music, drama and dance.
It was lovely to have a packed audience of proud family and friends ❤️
Well done to all of our award winners and thank you to everyone who contributed to making the evening a success!

If you’ve still got a Bruce Bogtrotter sized appetite for a ticket, there’s still time to book one of the other performances!
